It had nothing to do with safety. Literally nothing. I can think of 3 really good reasons that the masks worked. They actually make you sick, they make it less likely that you will talk to anyone, and they proved that people are willing to do anything they are told. All 3 worked like a charm. So altho they dont work to prevent sickness, they worked for what they were intended.

Both Mandy Krauthamer Cohen and Vivek Murphy had very light medical experience when they led DFO/DFA. Both were recent graduates from top medical schools, hadn't even completed their residency's. Neither have any real experience practicing medicine, they've focused on public health policy, political science, social and behavioral sciences. Not medical sciences, natural sciences. Social political policy implemented through the practice of medicine, wearing white coats as props to imply authoritative understanding of hard, natural, medical science. When all they know is soft, social, political science. More proficient with words of manipulation than the practice of medicine.
And now you know why everything about health care and the pandemic response was wrong, failed logic and medical science. It's all be political theater. Like the fake White Coat Obamacare PR event in the Rose Garden. Same exact political actors. All they know is politics. Scientific evidence is useful only insomuch as when a tiny sliver of it can form the basis of a massive pseudoscientific narrative. Like masking.
All this information will be out there and then, when Plandemic X sets in and the injected drop dead by the millions, they will of course enact all the same measures but with more gusto since the obvious reason they didn't work the first time was because the government was too lax with people. We'll need to round up all the science deniers and put them in camps. If our efforts here don't wake enough people up, the words we wrote with all the evidence against them will be evidence against us. Are they just giving us rope to hang ourselves? We shall see, but for now we must use the tools we've got. They don't understand love or humor. I think of all the people with empty jerry cans at the Freedom Convoy, and bouncy castles. They can't figure out how to fight things like that.

That's what masks, bandanas and N-95's were in 2020.
