A Tribute to the Quiet Heroes Behind the Scenes Making a Huge Impact
We are so grateful for the people powering World Council for Health and a Better Way. Francesca Havens, our WCH Translations Coordinator, pays tribute in this submission.
In times of great upheaval we tend to forget the unsung heroes, the quiet people behind the scenes, who with their tremendous effort underpin any success we have at changing the course of world events.
At World Council for Health, we are more than aware of the huge impact the people behind the scenes have on our efforts to promote real science and real health for the self-realisation and wellbeing of all.
These quiet heroes are our volunteers, supporters, workers, ambassadors and donors, who come from all walks of life, from all around the world. They act every day on their conviction that there is a Better Way than the nonsensical, antihuman and, indeed, anti-ecological management of the pandemic. The unlawful restrictions, mandates, masks and unproven treatments have caused untold harm in most if not all countries on this planet.
Anyone applying common sense and protesting the inhumanity and paucity of scientific evidence for any of the measures anywhere in the world have been subject to abuse of one sort or another. With seven and a half billion watching, it is inevitable that some have felt obliged to take action.
Just one example that shows how we are all truly involved is the millions of disposable masks that have ended up in our seas. They put another meaning to the description ‘the Blue Planet’. There is absolutely no accounting for the massive ecological impact of the pandemic from our governments around the world. They have been telling us about ecological destruction ever more vociferously for the last twenty years, and are now gearing up to fine us, each, personally, for exceeding our ‘carbon footprint’.
Let us talk with them about the plastic disposable masks, vials, syringes, and face shields. Let us talk about the plastic PPE, school desk cubicles, shop counter shields and the kilometres of clingfilm. What about the billions of plastic adhesive stickers, adhesive floor signs, adhesive counter signs and window signs, all produced for unscientific measures?
It comes as no surprise that our quiet heroes in every nation on this beautiful blue planet have been impacted. They all have noticed that something is wrong, and want to right it. It comes as no surprise that we do have a silent army out there who have seen the incongruence of everything that has happened and realised that they need to join the march towards a Better Way for the wellbeing of people and planet.
I feel privileged, humbled and enthused every single day as I work with people from around the planet offering to help around their full-time day jobs, families and children. Sometimes we get an offer of an incredible fundraising idea, or a donation from a principled citizen, or another heartfelt research contribution from a principled scientist. Sometimes we get a new person joining our Telegram channel just to thank us all the information we are making available, and the way it has made them feel accompanied and less lonely. Many write in to offer to be our Source ambassadors or to translate a text to be able to share health information, protect children’s lives or share the Better Way Principles with their families, friends and fellow citizens.
Every single day we experience moments of grace from the power of these human connections that may be unsung, and unnoticed in our mediatised world, but imbue our organisation with an unstoppable power and energy: the power of change.
