We Are Warriors: Our Jam for Freedom Festival Experience
Nothing beats the opportunity to meet and speak with people in person.
By Emma Sron, WCH Steering Committee
Earlier this month, several members of the WCH team from around the world gathered in Harlow, just north of London, for the first-ever Jam for Freedom Festival. We were excited to use our brand-new, easy-to-spot, WCH stand for this four-day freedom-focused event!
Despite the questionable forecast, we were blessed with lovely weather for most of the festival. It was a great learning experience for the team to see how the stand would perform outside in the sun, wind, and even a bit of rain.
Nothing beats the opportunity to meet and speak with people in person.
Our stand was fully stocked with leaflets like the Better Way Principles, the summary of our Policy Brief Rejecting Monopoly Power, information about SOURCE and other resources, as well as items for sale such as WCH t-shirts and hoodies, EMF Protection phone socks, flower crowns, and more.
We loved spotting our bright pink hoodies all over the festival grounds!
Everyone at the WCH stand throughout this pro-health freedom event had countless fruitful conversations with festival attendees, speakers and performers.
We met both new and familiar faces and were able to share important information and resources with people who were not yet aware of the World Council for Health and our work.
We also had ample time to enjoy ourselves, with some of us even taking a dip in the swimming pond!
While the festival itself struggled at times with various issues over the course of the four days, we continually experienced wonderful and inspiring interactions with those who stopped by our stand to chat. It was inspiring to see the attendees, volunteers, and musicians continually overcome the various challenges that arose throughout the event.
The weekend was filled with one-of-a-kind presentations, panel discussions, musical performances, comedy, and so much more. Activities for kids and adults alike took place all four days across the festival grounds.
Our very own Rev Dr Wai-Ching Lee, a member of the WCH Steering Committee, held an event (see video below) in the big tent as well, where many others spoke including Bob Moran, Piers Corbyn, Patrick Henningsen, Sonia Poulton, Sean Ward, Five Times August, Peter Conway, Darren Nesbit, Robin Monotti, and Joseph Arthur.

The WCH team enjoyed speaking with people in person that we have previously interacted with virtually. We were able to spend quality time with some amazing people who had been involved in the Better Way Conference back in June 2023.
Our very own Jemma Cooper (formerly with the BBC) chatted it up with Darren Nesbit from The Light Paper, and the whole team watched Bob Moran work on a new painting outside as festival attendees looked on.
We met Remeece and his beautiful family, learned a bit about gold with fellow sponsor Knights Bullion, enjoyed the motivating music of numerous artists (like Joseph Arthur below, see full video), and even found time to chat with some bands including HOLLOWBONE and The Daz Band (fronted by Darren Nesbit).
We were delighted to catch up with our friends Kurt Shore, the producer of the song We Are Warriors, and Robin Monotti, the producer of the film The Book of Vision—all while the WCH team enjoyed some much-needed quality time together.

While we all enjoy and find value in reaching people online while connecting and holding virtual events, nothing beats in-person connection.
Over the course of the festival, we were all reminded how much we need each other and how important human connection is, especially with like-minded individuals as we navigate the storm that is before us.
We hope to see you at an in-person event soon! Don’t be surprised to see a bright pink stand pop up in a country near you! 😉 💕
“It was a pleasure hosting the World Council of Health team at our inaugural festival. Glad you all had an amazing time! I look forward to working with you to help strengthen medical choice and freedoms with the power of music and connection,” expressed Cambel McLaughlin, the founder of Jam for Freedom.
